EDIBLE EDUCATION EMPOWERING YOUNG CHEFS TO THRIVE

Classes are available in a wide variety of settings: virtual, in schools, after-care,  community centers, group homeschooling programs, or in your own home.

Choose from single day or multi-week options ranging from birthday parties and get-togethers to farmer's market exploration and adventure classes.

Each cooking class will focus on an exploration of food using all 5 senses.  Together we will encounter and explore a treasure trove of organic fruits and vegetables, learning about them in new and exciting ways. Every class offers new skill-based hands-on cooking activities and concludes with everyone sitting down to proudly share and eat the culinary delights they made together.

I cannot count how many times parents have thanked me for "working my magic" with broccoli or transforming foods that were previously on the 'causes tantrums list' into weekly staples for their families.

One of my favorite classes began with an exploration of sweet potatoes. I had 8 of 10 preschoolers tell me that sweet potatoes were yucky, and they would not be eating them. Without fear, we continued to explore the bright orange and purple tubers, eventually peeling, grating, mashing and transforming them together into simple sweet potato pancakes. At the end of the day, all 10 students realized that they did, in fact, like sweet potatoes, and most asked if there were more to take home to share with their families. With patience, perseverance, and a little bit of fun, almost any food can go from yuck to yum.

FARM BOX EXPLORATION AND EMPOWERMENT COOKING CLASSES

Classes are available in a wide variety of settings such as schools, after-care,  community centers, or group homeschooling programs.

Each class. begins by exploring a CSA seasonal farm box and investigating the wide variety of fruits and vegetables within. Using all of the senses, children are empowered to explore these new foods, and together we will dive into a skill-based cooking lesson resulting in a delicious snack to share.

These classes teach and continually enforce Path to Panacea's philosophy of empowering children and families to develop and sustain healthy eating habits through exposure to fresh, local, sustainable fruits and vegetables.

Learning objectives will be met through a series of weekly cooking and nutrition education classes for children.  The program model includes opportunities for parental involvement and for older children to participate as mentors with younger children.
